FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of indole derivatives of the general formula (I) that are semiproducts and can be used for synthesis of pyrroloindoles and mitomycins where R1 and R2 mean OCH3; R means Ph (Ia) or R means tert.-Br-Ph (Ib) or R means CH3 (Ic); or R1 and R2 mean H; R means Ph (Id) or R means p-CH3 (Ie) or R means p-Br-Ph (If) or R means p-Cl-Ph (Ig). Method of synthesis involves heating derivatives of 2-tosylaminoarylfurylmethane of the formula (2) in saturated solution of gaseous hydrogen chloride in ethanol at 70-78 C for 10-30 min.
