FIELD: chemistry of organic polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to active derivatives of polyethylene glycol and related hydrophilic polymers and to methods of their synthesis for using in modification of indices of surfaces and molecules. Water-soluble hydrolytically stable activated polymer has at least one active sulfone residue connected to polymer taken among polyalkylene oxides, poly- -hydroxyethylated polyols and polyolefinic alcohols being sulfone residue means: a) active ethylsulfone residue; b) SO2-CH2-CH2-X where X is halogen; c) vinyl sulfone group having come from active ethylsulfone residue; d) CO-NH-CH2-CH2-SO2-CH= CH2; e) NH-CO-CH2-CH2-SO2-CH= CH2. Invention provides to obtain activated polymers with specific reactive capacity, stability in water that under reductive conditions form the more stable compounds with surfaces and molecules involving biologically active molecules.
