FIELD: optimization of microprocessor speed. SUBSTANCE: optimal operating frequency is set for processor unit considering its individual performance characteristics. Power supply voltage applied to processor unit is increased to maximal specified value either manually or automatically. Such procedure enables processor unit operation at maximal possible frequency. Clock frequency of processor unit is varied relative to that of integrating board so as to provide for arbitrary regulation of processor clock frequency up to its maximal operating frequency. Method of successive approximations is used to determine maximal clock frequency for normal operation of processor unit. EFFECT: enhanced performance of processor unit. 8 cl, 3 dwg
