FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has vessel and container feeding platform arranged in vessel. Platform is equipped with individual hangers and drive mechanism for rotating each container about vertical axis of symmetry. Platform is made in the form of closed suspended single rail with rectilinear and rounded portions. Rectilinear and partially rounded portions have parts inclined at different angles to horizontal plane. Rectilinear portion arranged in vessel has incline coinciding with container feeding direction, when containers are directed into vessel. Symmetrical opposite portion has incline directed towards drying chamber. Vessel is equipped with vertical walls having vertical shields arranged at upper level and with two rows of vertical parallel poles offset with respect to walls and provided with nozzles for applying finely dispersed water drops and water streams onto licorice root mass in containers. Nozzles are arranged on poles in equally spaced relation in vertical plane and at different levels on adjacent and opposite poles. One part of nozzles are oriented at acute angle to vessel longitudinal axis. Other part of nozzles are oriented perpendicular to vessel longitudinal axis. Third part of nozzles are mounted at obtuse angle to vessel longitudinal axis. Pair of bars are located on vessel bottom on inclined walls of longitudinal trough. Nozzles inclined at different angles to vertical plane are attached to bars. Inclined trough arranged under rectilinear single rail portion is adapted for discharge of used water containing mineral trash and plant contaminants. Mentioned trough is inclined in direction opposite to container feeding direction and is joined to transverse trough which is equipped with solid sediment pit.
