FIELD: timber industry. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to storage of wood materials in air- and light-impermeable protective envelop. Oxygen contained inside envelop is consumed by respiratory processes of fungi, bacteria, and also still living wood cells to form carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen content after 3-10-day storage is 0.1 vol % and that of carbon dioxide rises to 21-40 vol %. EFFECT: prolonged safe storage time and avoided environmental pollution. 15 cl, 5 dwg, 4 ex
