FIELD: unipolar electrochemical treatment of liquid media, particularly batch type installations for enhancing quality of drinking water. SUBSTANCE: portable apparatus for electrochemical treatment of water due to conversion of its chemical content and physical properties includes rectangular housing with vessel made of dielectric material and separated by two chambers with the aid of central partition. Cathode and non-consumable cylindrical anode are placed in chambers and they are connected with electric current source. Electrodes are mounted horizontally in lower part of housing. Central partition has insert in the form of porous diaphragm arranged at electrode level. Inclined partitions of electrically nonconducting material are placed over each electrode for separating rising flow of treated liquid from non-treated liquid. There is opening in upper portion of central partition for placing additional wire-gauze electrode connected with negative terminal of power source. EFFECT: enhanced uniformity of treating mass of liquid. 2 cl, 3 dwg
