FIELD: high-temperature plasma technology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to design devices to translate pinch-effect into generation of high-power pulses of X-radiation. Gear generating plasma based sliding discharge has pulse power supply source and sealed hollow chamber with two electrodes located on its faces and side surface along which reversible current-carrying conductor passes on outside electrically coupled to one electrode and the other electrode and reversible current-carrying conductor is connected to pulse power supply source. In this case side surface of chamber is made of polarized ferroelectric. EFFECT: possibility of formation of continuous current shell under high gas pressure which contributes to increased output of X-radiation. 1 cl, 1 dwg
