FIELD: genetic engineering, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes the strain Penicillium chryso-genum that is able to assimilate and utilize adipinic acid or its salts and esters to form adipoyl-6-aminopenicillic acid (adipoyl-6-APA) is transformed with expression vector containing gene that encodes enzyme expandase, in part, from Streptomyces clavuligerus that converts adipoyl-6-APA to adipoyl-7- aminodesacetoxycephalosporanic acid (adipoyl-7-ADCA). The recombinant strain is cultured in the presence of adipinic acid as nutrition source, in part, adipinate disodium. Adipoyl-7-ADCA produced in situ is treated with enzyme adipoylacylase to yield the end product, i. e. 7-ADCA. Invention provides to produce the key intermediate compound for synthesis of cephalosporins in industrial scale for two stages. Invention can be used in production of cephalosporin antibiotics.
