FIELD: beta-ray sources. SUBSTANCE: metal substrate is coated with evaporated titanium layer, then covered with shielding layer by high-frequency spraying silicon dioxide onto titanium film these procedures being followed by saturation with tritium through shielding coat. Proposed process is distinguished by provision for reduced desorption flow, surface fouling, and radiation hazard in manufacturing beta-ray sources.
