FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, possibly out-of-furnace gas treatment of metal in ladle. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes lodgment unit mounted in lining of hearth of ladle, blowing tuyere arranged in metallic sleeve, gas supply pipe and protection plug placed under blowing tuyere. Protection unit is arranged coaxially under lodgment unit and it rests upon ladle casing through leveling layer. Protection plug is inserted to protection unit. Under support of plug onto gas supply pipe safety valve is mounted. Valve includes housing with vertical central gas supply duct having upper and lower portions. Between said portions there is diaphragm with gas-flow ducts joining cavities of upper and lower portions. There is cone annular protrusion on lower portion inner surface abutting to gas-flow duct; said protrusion passes to annular horizontal face. Diaphragm is placed with gap relative to protrusion. In upper part of housing there is insert of copper alloy. When metal flows through gas supply pipe, safety valve operates in order to freeze metal whose heat is taken off by means of copper insert. It provides reliable operation and protection of blowing units against metal leaving through gas supply system. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
