FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed diagnosing method comes to braking of suspended wheels accelerated to preset speed at exclusion of any external action and continuously counting, in process of braking, frequency standard reference pulses between adjacent pulses of wheel angular velocity pickup, finding, by results of measurement, time taken to bring each wheel to full stop and time corresponding to turning of wheel through adjacent and equal angular intervals of preset value, calculating current values of angular and linear velocities and deceleration of each suspended wheel, getting of deceleration value of each wheel in time and finding, by the result, brake system delay time, deceleration increase time, total braking time and time of deceleration of nonbraked wheel, steady deceleration, maximum deceleration, brake distance in time of steady braking, wheel brake distance and finding additionally wheel inertia moments. Technical condition of brakes is judged basing on comparing values of parameters obtained in process of diagnosing at measured values of wheel inertia moments with standard values found for each indicated parameter depending on wheel inertia moment in brake system in good repair. EFFECT: improved accuracy of brake system condition checks owing to exclusion of influences of tire wear onto braking parameters of suspended wheels. 1 dwg
