FIELD: processes for treating loose materials in rotating drum, possibly in food, chemical and other industry branches. SUBSTANCE: drum unit includes housing 1 with flat sieve 2, bandages 3 supported by rollers 4, doors for charging/discharging product. Novelty is counterweight 5 rigidly secured to housing under flat sieve 2 in parallel relative to rotation axis of drum 1. Mass G of counterweight 5 is determined according to expression where M_C - maximum value of torque of counterweight; l- distance from rotation axis until gravity center of counterweight. In such drum aggregate counterweight secured to housing under flat sieve in parallel relative to rotation axis of drum allows to reduce maximum torque and, therefore, power of drive engine. It provides shock-free operation mode as torque does not become negative. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 5 dwg
