FIELD: analytical methods in biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method that can be applied to perform analyzing microquantities of tocopherol both in pure solutions and compositionally complex pharmacological preparations, agricultural products and foods, biological systems, biologically active additives, and waste waters from fat-processing enterprises consists in dissolving oil tocopherol solution in chloroform followed by dilution by acetonitrile and voltammetric analysis. Novelty consists in that voltammetric analysis is effected taking into account oxidation peaks on glass-carbon, carbon-glass-ceramic, or graphite electrodes in acetonitrile solution against 0.02 M tetramethylammonium chlorate and 0.02 M tetrabutylammonium iodide solutions, while registration of anodic peaks is accomplished in differential voltammogram record mode at linear scan velocity of potential between 10 and 20 mV/s. Concentration of vitamin is determined from peak height within a potential range of 1.8 to 2.0 V relative to bottom mercury utilizing certified mixture addition approach.
