FIELD: metal continuous casting processes and equipment, namely molds having water-cooled wall of copper or copper alloy contacting with melt metal and having metallic coating on outer surface. SUBSTANCE: member of mold has coating of argentum layer. In preferable variant of invention wall with argentum coating represents shell of cylinder of machine for continuously casting thin metallic bands between two cylinders or by means of one cylinder. Application of metallic layer on outer surface of water-cooled wall of copper or copper alloy of member of mold for metal continuous casting is realized by applying argentum layer on said surface, preferably by plating process. Recovering of argentum layer is realized at using remaining layer of argentum by secondary applying of argentum onto said layer while placing above mentioned wall as cathode into electrolytic bath including, for example solutions of argentum cyanide, alkali metal cyanide and alkali metal carbonate.
