FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: side end wall (II) for closing of runner space (^) of plant for continuous casting of metal strips and containing two rotating in opposite directions rolls (5,5a) with internal cooling and with horizontal axles whose side cylindrical surfaces confine runner space (6) whose width in narrowing part (7) governs strip thickness. Side end wall (II) has working part (3) designed for friction with rib (4) of rolls(5,5a) during casting and it is installed against runner space (6), sizes of working part (3) are selected to provide for location of its lower edge (12) at distance (d) equaling, at least, 1 mm above narrowing part (7) after installation of side end wall (11) on plant for casting. EFFECT: provided development of such casting plant ensuring creation of such conditions for hardening of strip near side end walls to prevent disturbance of casting process and to limit phenomenon of withdrawal of side end walls. 6 cl, 4 dwg
