FIELD: building of chimney-type cooling towers, applicable in heat power engineering and industry. SUBSTANCE: the cooling tower has a reinforced-concrete shell and a protective shield of rolled material repelling the heat flows attached to it, the shield is 10 to 40m long, 0.5 to 2.5m wide and made in the form of sheet aluminum, 10 to 40 μ thick, having a two-sided chemically resistant polymeric protection with a melting point within 110 to 260 C, the thickness on each side is within 10 to 250 μ. EFFECT: prevented destructions of the cooling tower constructions, improved aerodynamic characteristics and cooling efficiency. 4 cl, 4 dwg
