FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering, namely to chimney-type cooling towers for cooling of recycled water of industrial enterprises. A cooling tower includes a chimney in the form of a flattened pyramid or a hyperboloid of rotations. The chimney opening ends with an upper stiffening ring with railings on outer and inner sides of the chimney. Along the whole perimeter of the chimney opening there installed on the plane of the upper stiffening ring is a wind-guiding sectional device so that a solid surface can be formed, which consists of ambient air dissecting and guide flap plates located throughout the height one above another at the distance between their axial lines of 150-1000 mm to the height of 1.0-5.0 m from the upper stiffening ring; with that, an angle of position of flap plate planes to horizon is 0-80°.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing aerodynamic resistance and increasing cooling efficiency of a chimney-type cooling tower.
