FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises cooling water by inflowing air to the cooling tower from the atmosphere. The air is cooled and dried providing its temperature and humidity to be less than these of the ambient atmospheric air. The air is produced from the steam-air mixture generated in the cooling tower. The steam-air mixture is caused to flow upward and is directed to the closed cupola overlapping member for the outlet opening of the cooling tower. The mixture is pumped out from the cupola and is supplied to the device for air treatment. The air is dried and cooled and is directed to flow in the closed circuit defined by the cooling tower, device for air treatment, steam and air ducts, and pipelines for water condensate.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of water cooling.
