FIELD: industrial buildings forming part of cooling plants, particularly cooling towers for enterprisers and power plants.
SUBSTANCE: air flow control device comprises air-guiding deflector and rotary jalousie gate sections installed on pile foundation base or on water catchment basin wall and extending at 45-135° angles to horizontal surface. Gate position is regulated by means of manual drive or with the use of automatic drive installed inside air-guiding deflector. Rotary jalousie gates are made of thin sheet material and have individual drives, which provide independent upper and lower gate section operation, arranged within the limits of each section. Air flow control method involves regulating gate opening through angle, which provides design specific air flow rate; closing upper and lower gates of rotary jalousie gate sections in dependence of change of atmospheric air temperature and hydraulic and heat load of cooling tower.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of air flow regulation in dependence of atmospheric air temperature and hydraulic and heat load.
