FIELD: cooling and mechanical-draft towers; controlling amount of air admitted to cooling tower. SUBSTANCE: cooling tower gangway mounted at tower base upstream of air intake ports in spraying space has shelter, sections of swivel folds set at 65-85 deg. and made in the form of stiff frames, 0.5-2.5 m wide, with their height equal to that of air-intake port of tower; these frames accommodate horizontally mounted pins carrying swivel folds; it also has common draft disposed along central axis of section and mounted for reciprocating motion; each swivel fold is free to rotate about its pin and is set in open or closed position by imparting force through hinges and stops from reciprocating motion of common draft. Folds are made in the form of strips with edges bent through 85 +90 deg., 0.001-0.005 m wide, strip length being 0.5-2.5 m, and its width, 0.2-0.7 m; strip edge facing external side of section is bent through 85-90 deg. in opposite direction relative to other edges. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced maneuverability of air flow volume and direction control. 2 cl, 2 dwg
