FIELD: cryoelectronics. SUBSTANCE: proposed superconductor switching member has insulating substrate, superconducting gate film, insulating layer, and superconducting control film. Superconducting films are made of type-II superconductor; condition satisfied for medium-size edge discontinuities δω of gate film is δω ≪ λeff, where λeff is effective penetration depth of magnetic field and for forces fsw ≫ fv, where fsw is force per unit of length of magnetic swirl due to existence of edge magnetic barrier; fv is force per unit of length of magnetic swirl due to internal flaw of film. Bean-Livingston magnetic barrier is realized in superconductor and resulting motion of magnetic swirls initiates controllable voltage across film.
