FIELD: electronic engineering. SUBSTANCE: luminophore ZnS : Ag, Cu is ground, agglomerated and fraction with mean particle sizes in the range 8 mcm <r <13 mcm providing the maximal luminescence is selected. The selection can be carried out by Stokes' method or to use a powder classifier. The sum of mass parts or residual fractions with the mean particles size r <8 mcm and r <13 mcm is counted. If the sum is above 15% the repeated extraction is carried out until the sum will be ≤ 15%. In selection by Stokes' method the selected powder is placed in a drying chamber and water is evaporated at 100 C. The intensity of the parent luminescence is increased by 8% and radiation stability after illumination of luminophore by electron flow with E = 24 keV by 5%. Invention can be used in making cathode-ray tubes for kinescopes in television and computer techniques. EFFECT: improved method of pigment producing. 1 tbl, 3 dwg
