FIELD: surface impregnation of products, mainly of those that have residual presurface stresses, for example, fabricated metal products containing hot-rolled parts, fabricated metal products of wire, filtration wire cloths, threads of screw joints, composite ceramic products inclusive, etc. SUBSTANCE: vacuum working chamber in the vacuum furnace unit and in the method for surface impregnation of products: the claimed vacuum working chamber is made in the form of a thin- walled metal vacuum-tight capsule geometrically matched with distribution of the external heat-releasing elements so that the non-uniformity of temperature along the inner walls of the vacuum chamber is minimum for the working rate of heating, the chamber being connected through pipe-lines to the monitored system for formation of active gas mixture; in realization of the vacuum surface impregnation method impregnation of the presurface layers of the product with a gas carrier of strengthening additives, including the surfaces of pores and microcracks, is carried out after annealing, and then active components are added to the gas mixture, which in thermodynamic conditions of the process bind the strengthening admixture in the presurface layers, thus stimulating the diffusion of the strengthening admixture in the presurface layers, thus stimulating the diffusion of the strengthening admixtures from the mass of the product material onto the process surface increasing the concentration of the bound strengthening admixtures on the product working surface.
