Feedback circuit 82 provides for supply of part of the perceived cathode current produced by the cathode current converter to circuit point 65 or 63 in the amplifier for gamma-correction of the image produced by the picture tube. In one modification of realization the cathode current is divided for gamma-correction of the picture tube image and automatic control of picture tube bias.
