FIELD: chemical engineering and carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: installation contains means to load carbon- containing crude; heating chamber 2 provided with activation gas inlet pipe 3 connected to crude inlet means; activator 6 with fluidized bed provided with activation gas outlet pipe 9, combustion chamber 10 with steam-supply means 13 in the form of ejector, and activation gas separator 14. Gas-discharge pipe 15 of the latter is connected with steam-supply means 13, with activation gas inlet pipe 3, and it also has by-pass means 16. Hydrocarbon crude is heated under pneumatic transport conditions in heating chamber by activation gases and is activated in fluidized activator bed. Activation gases are purified in separator and a part of them, together with steam, is fed into combustion chamber of activator to produce activation agent. Predetermined crude heating temperature is maintained by mixing remaining part of purified activation gas stream with untreated activation gases in by-pass means thereby varying proportion of their intakes.
