FIELD: ammunition, in particular, cartridges of fighting and sporting automatic, semiautomatic and nonautomatic small arms. SUBSTANCE: the cartridge has a shell, cartridge case with a pitch, projectile charge with a device for its ignition and a piston. The piston is installed between the shell and the projectile charge for working stroke with a braking in the cartridge case pitch. An annular bulge is made in the front part of the piston facing the pitch. The principal distinction of the cartridge is in the fact that cut-outs are provided in the annular bulge that are located symmetrically relative to the piston longitudinal axis. Positioned in the space between the piston and shell is either a pusher in the form of a developed section of the piston, or liquid. The minimum diameter of the annular bulge may exceed the shell caliber. The elements of the outer and inner lateral surfaces of the piston annular bulge may be inclined to one side. The mentioned elements may be inclined to the side opposite the pitch slope. The cut-outs in the piston annular bulge may be made in the form of radially oriented grooves on the side of its end face. The grooves may be V-shaped with a contraction in the direction from the end face of the piston annular bulge. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the cartridge and reduced level of noise at a shot. 6 cl, 4 dwg
