FIELD: pipe line transport; operation of main and field pipe lines; locating jammed and moving tools from surface. SUBSTANCE: tool has electromagnetic signal receiver and transmitter: output of transmitter is connected with radiating antenna whose signals are received by antenna of portable receiver located above pipe line on ground surface: its output is connected in series with amplifier, decoder, monitoring and indicating unit. Introduced in device between amplifier and decoder are phase detector, voltage-controlled oscillator and quartz filter which are connected in series; connected to second input of phase detector is output of frequency divider whose input is connected with output of frequency divider whose input is connected with output of voltage- controlled oscillator. EFFECT: increased speed of response; enhanced reliability of identification of transmitter signals and noise immunity; increased distance of steady reception of signal of transmitter; enhanced informativeness through change of frequency of transmission and reception of separate informative signals from decimal fraction to unit of Hz with no change in electrical and structural parameters of receiving and transmitting units. 1 dwg
