FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for reducing noise and vibrations of piston engines and other mechanisms of ship and stationary power generating plants. Proposed vibration isolator has flexible member made up of arc- shaped lengths of wire rope curved in direction to center of fixing member made in form of ring in which some ends of wire rope lengths are fastened, and holders with threaded rod fasteners in which other ends of corresponding wire rope lengths are secured. Outer diameter of fixing member exceeds outer diameter of holders. At least one cylindrical spring is placed between lengths of wire ropes and holders. Spring can be installed either with preloading or without preloading. Spring is adjusted directly in place of installation. EFFECT: improved vibration isolation. 1 dwg
