FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diesel engines and other mechanisms of ship and stationary power generating plants. Proposed vibration isolator has flexible member in form of steel wire rope spiral made in form of torus, support disks with pressure rings arranged on inner surface of each disk with corresponding radial slots on inner surfaces for enclosing and fixing torus-shaped flexible member spiral by screws from two opposite sides. It has shock and vibration isolating device made in form of at least three compression springs (by one, by two, etc pieces) installed by one end over circumference at equal spacing by means of locking device on lower pressure rings, other end can occupy different positions relative to upper pressure ring. Device is provided also with guides. EFFECT: reduced noise and vibration of diesel engines and other mechanisms. 4 dwg
