FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: vibration isolator can be used in any equipment for protection of objects from vibration and shocks. It has flexible member, damper, support disks with central inner projection and corresponding threaded hole for fastening support disks on base and object, and also fasteners and adjusting members. Flexible member is made in form of one cylindrical spring or at least two cylindrical springs, one nest in the other each spring being fitted with preloading or without preloading with axial clearance or without clearance relative to adjusting members made in form of washers. Damper is made from arc-shaped lengths of steel wire rope curved to hyperbola relative to axis of vibration isolator, with ends pointed to its periphery and secured in semi-round slots of support disks and special pressure rings. Proposed vibration isolator weakens both low-frequency and high-frequency vibrations, provides higher efficiency of damping and reduces vibration levels of objects, especially in area of resonance frequencies owing to friction between cores of wire rope, i.e. owing to design combination of flexible and damping members and their parallel connection, thus improving efficient vibration and shock protection.
