FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diesel engines and other mechanisms of ship or stationary power generating plants. Proposed vibration isolator has flexible member made of lengths of steel wire ropes curved to hyperbola inwards the isolator, three plates in form of rings two of which are arranged on extreme oppositely cross planes of hyperboloid with fitted in and fastened corresponding ends of flexible member wire rope lengths and are fastened to foundation plate. Third ring is arranged on central cross symmetry plane both for free longitudinal displacement and fixing being secured on engine. Said vibration isolator can be furnished with hollow cylinder with fixing devices on its end faces, cylinder being installed coaxially to enclose the rings, and additional flexible member enclosing steel wire rope lengths and arranged between the lengths and inner surface of hollow cylinder. Additionally flexible member can be made either of wire rope or of metal twisted wire, or net, or rubber or composite material. EFFECT: improved design of vibration isolators. 3 cl, 9 dwg
