FIELD: electronic engineering; telecommunications, measuring and other devices for producing microwave signals. SUBSTANCE: impact avalanche and transit time diode operating in avalanche breakdown mode and possessing extremely nonlinear characteristic converts input signal so that higher harmonics appear in frequency spectrum which are a multiple of input signal ω0. Tuning probe and short-circuiting pistons are used for tuning output stage to nω0 frequency. Tuning probe is mounted above upper electrode of IMPATT diode (in diode axis). Probe position above diode is adjusted by means of screw and locked by means of rod. Adjusting probes enable tuning resonant capacitor to nω0 frequency and diverting energy to output part of T-joint accommodating waveguide bandpass filter. The latter is, essentially, assembly of waveguide sections whose E-planes mount thin metal diaphragm with ports along waveguide axis. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of conversion. 5 cl, 3 dwg
