SUBSTANCE: method involves providing supersonic scanning at the level of upper and middle third of shin, in strictly perpendicular orientation to its rear surface; determining thickness of musculus solcus along line of perpendicular extending from medial edge of calf bone to scanning plane till intersection with fasciae of musculus solcus, and determining thickness of gastrocnemius muscle along line of perpendicular extending from medial edge of shinbone to scanning plane until intersection with fasciae of gastrocnemius muscle, with thickness of said muscles being determined under maximum muscular relaxation state, as well as under maximum isometric contraction state, with following calculation of extent of contraction for each separate muscle according to formula S= (L2 x 100):L1-100, where S is index of contraction extent, L2 is thickness of contracted muscle, L1 is thickness of muscle in resting state; determining normal functional state of shin rear muscle group by index of contraction extent of musculus solcus and by index of contraction extent of gastrocnemius muscle; determining disturbed functional state of muscles by kind of dystrophy; disturbed functional state of muscles by kind of mild hypertrophy; disturbed functional state of muscles by kind of expressed hypertrophy; disturbed functional state of muscles by kind of mild atrophy; disturbed functional state of muscles by kind of expressed atrophy.
