METHOD OF ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTICS OF CONTRACTILITY OF GASTRO-DUODENAL TRANSITION Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B8/12 

FIELD: medicine; ultrasonic diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used for diagnosing diseases of top sections of stomach-abdominal tract. Longitudinal cut of gastro-duodenal transition is subject to ultrasonic scanning. Then lateral cut of gastro-duodenal transition is scanned additionally and thickness of muscular layer of gastro-duodenal transition is measured along front, top, back and lower walls as during phase of total opening of space and during phase of maximal closure. Then index of contractility degree of gastro-duodenal transition is measured. Index is calculated by formula I_s=L₁+L₂+L₃+L₄)x100)/(R₁+R₂+R₃+R₄)-100, where I_s is index of contractility degree; L₁, L₂, L₃ and L₄ is thickness of muscular layer along front, top, back and lower wall correspondingly during phase of maximal closure; R₁, R₂, R₃ and R₄ is thickness of muscular layer along front, top, back and lower wall correspondingly during phase of complete opening of gastro-duodenal transition. When index of contractility degree equals to 50% and more, normal state of contractility is diagnosed. When index of contractility degree is lower than 50%, malfunction of contractility of gastro-duodenal transition is diagnosed.

EFFECT: improved precision of method; higher truth of results.
