FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method of synthesis of complex oxide of the composition Y2Be2SiO7 that can be used as crystalline medium for laser crystals. Crystals are grown by Tchokchralsky method on the growth device "Kristall-3". The parent oxides are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: yttrium oxide, 67.22-76.21; silicon oxide, 12.98-17.89; beryllium oxide up to 100. Oxides are mixed, a mixture is pressed to make tablets followed by their squeezing out at temperature 1195-1205 C for 19-20 h and then loaded in a crucible to grown crystals. Growing atmosphere: nitrogen/oxygen in relative volume concentration = 98:2; iridium crucible of size 40 x 2 x 40; temperature on melt surface is 1650 C; seed crystal is an iridium rod; elongation rate is 1.5-3 mm/h; plunger rate rotation is 10 rev/min; heat insulation of growing chamber is ceramics Al2O3,ZrO2. Large size crystals are obtained (diameter is 15 mm, length is 30 mm) of good optical quality. EFFECT: improved method of production.
