FIELD: corrosion protection, particularly, production of corrosion inhibitors; applicable in protection from corrosion of various metals and alloys operating in aggressive liquid and gas-moisture media, for instance, seagoing vessels, railroad and automobile transport, pipelines and equipment of gas, chemical and petrochemical, power and other industries. SUBSTANCE: corrosion inhibitor contains finely divided silicon dioxide and anticorrosive components in form of mixture of magnesium oxide, calcium hydroxide and/or calcium aluminosilicate and powdery metal magnesium or magnesium alloy in the following amounts, in terms of elements, wt.%: Si 30-40; Mg 10-15; Ca 5-10; metallic Mg 30-40. Silicon dioxide is recommended to be used with grains sizing up to 300 mcm, and magnesium alloy in form of alumino-magnesium alloy. Corrosion inhibitor protects metals and alloys even in cases of damaged protective coating. It is stable in acid and highly saline media, heat-resistant (up to 600 C in mixture with organosilicon compositions), biologically inactive (possible application in food industry), and features unlimited shelf life.
