FIELD: agriculture, in particular, seed growing. SUBSTANCE: method involves growing required amount of potato planting material on wet peat-and-sawdust substrate for one year on meristem tubers, with peat-and-sawdust substrate being used in the ratio of 5:1; maintaining temperature within the range of 15-16 C; providing germination of meristem tubers alternatively in the absence of illumination for 12-14 days and under natural illumination conditions for 9-10 days; treating resultant mini-tubers with heteroauxin solution used in an amount of 50 mg/l prior to planting in open ground. EFFECT: increased potato planting material yield, reduced growing and storage expenses. 5 dwg, 1 tbl
