FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has casing and rubbing member. Casing has mandrel with pivotally attached spring-biased fork-shaped holder having two heads comprising spherical deforming members located in spherical grooves of inserts and retained by stops and single-sided asymmetrical projections of head bodies. Stops are fixed to head bodies connected to holder ends in controllable manner. Regulating slots are formed in stops and on ends of fork carrying deforming members. Rubbing member fixed to one end of fork-shaped holder is made in the form of casing with rectangular bath having bottom equipped with openings communicated with casing lower cavity including elastic porous member, which extends with its end surfaces from end surfaces of rectangular bath for distance c=(0.1-0.9)R, where R is radius of spherical member. Apparatus is used in repair industry for finish treatment of crankshaft necks and applying protective antifriction films.
