FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: compression retarder for heavy for heavy diesel engines has intake and outlet valves with drive, additional outlet and inlet valves installed in engine cylinder head, air distributor and air spool. Outlet valve has hydraulic drive with pipelines, pressure source in form of pump, control spool and distributor whose drain channel is connected with tank, and inlet valve is connected with air spool and with air distributor by means of pipelines. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of operation of retarder. 1 dwg
