FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed retarder consists of hydraulic device including tappet, drive cylinder, rocker, outlet valve, cam of camshaft, oil distributor, oil pump with electric drive and bypass valve located in upper part of drive cylinder and connected with oil distributor by means of oil pipe. Oil distributor, in its turn, is connected with oil pump. U-shaped slot for tappet bead is made in lower part of drive cylinder, and throttle hole in made in upper part of cylinder. Heel of cam of camshaft is made to circumference. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities of hydraulically-operated valve actuating mechanism. 1 dwg
