FIELD: testing equipment designed to test damping properties of materials with high internal friction. SUBSTANCE: gear for impact test of materials with high internal friction at alternating rates of deformation has anvil placed on base, mobile platform experiencing collisions in the form of axially symmetric cylindrical body with bottom to locate test object, vertical guides for platform, former of impact momentum positioned between platform and anvil, means to lift and drop platform. Gear also has inert body installed in axial symmetry and springy member unloading test object. Inert body can contact test object and can reciprocate along longitudinal axis of platform above test object. Inert body comes in the form of two masses of cylindrical form interconnected by means of one or several springy members placed in symmetry with longitudinal axis of platform. Springy member unloading test object is positioned between mass of inert body contacting test object and bottom of platform. It can contact their surfaces at same time and is installed in clearance between body of platform and test object. According to second variant of implementation of gear bottom of platform has axial cylindrical depression for installation of test object in it. Axial protrusion is made on surface of inert body contacting test object, it can move as piston inside given depression. Springy member unloading test object is placed in clearance between protrusion of inert body and body of platform.
