FIELD: measurement technology, tests of objects by impact loads. SUBSTANCE: given invention makes it feasible to raise characteristics of overload pulse of tested object by increase of its acceleration velocity without rise of acceleration velocity of platform of impact stand. For achievement of this result platform with tested object mounted for movement with reference to platform during braking of the latter is accelerated to collision with braking unit and tested object is braked by second braking unit that is installed between tested object and platform with certain clearance between object and second braking unit. In process of movement of object relative to platform within limits of specified clearance additional acceleration of object of test is conducted by transmission of kinetic energy of inertial weight accelerated on impact stand together with tested object and platform carried out by means of transmission mechanism with transmission ratio i <1 mounted on platform.
