METHOD OF BURNING OF BOTTOM OF ALUMINIUM ELECTROLYTIC CELL Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C25C3/06

Abstract RU 2593253 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of bottom of aluminium electrolytic cell with baked anodes burning. In method current load is adjusted when determining overheating hearth surface by continuous measurement of temperature and current load at anodes and nipples, anode rod assemblies are switched off with maximum allowable current load according to technology or with uneven distribution of current at anode nipples located in area of “cathode shell side wall - closest anode nipple” and/or nearby anode, successively determined hearth surface overheating between adjacent rows of anodes, anode rod assemblies are switched off with maximum allowable current load or with uneven distribution of current at anode nipples and/or nearby anodes in following sequence: closest anode - opposite standing anode - anode at diagonal, wherein bottom is covered with layer of electrically conducting material under anodes located along periphery of bottom with contact area of coating from 50 % to 90 %, contact area under adjacent anodes is from 30 % to 70 %, above all remaining anodes is from 10 % to 50 %, and electrolytic cell is connected to firing after its bottom surface temperature to specified by process value.

EFFECT: reduced volume of electric conductive material and uniform heating of bottom to 900 °C for 48 hours.
