FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly electrolytic production of aluminum, namely processes for calcining hearth of aluminum cell with fired anodes. SUBSTANCE: method for calcining hearth of aluminum cell with fired anodes comprises steps of coating hearth made of cathode blocks with layer of carbon charge; placing fired anodes onto said layer; connecting anode holders of all fired anodes with anode buses of anode busbar of cell; passing electric current through layer of carbon charge and controlling load current of fired anodes; connecting anode holders at least of half of total number of fired anodes with anode buses of anode busbar of cell by means of flexible members providing possibility for connection and disconnection of fired anodes; placing fired anodes along width of hearth in range of perimeter of cathode blocks with constant or variable shift relative to lengthwise axis of hearth.
