FIELD: electrical engineering, manufacture and usage of alkaline cells. SUBSTANCE: in accordance with invention jacket is produced by pressure casting of thermosoftening plastic material capable of thermal shrinkage and displaying following properties: electric resistance not less than 20 MOhm, electric strength not less than 14.0 kV/mm in the course of 1.0 min, Charpy impact elasticity at temperature of plus 60 C not less than 40.0 kJ/sq m without notch and above 5.0 kJ/sq m with notch. High resistance to alkali in alkali with concentration 25-30 mas.% is required condition for selection of material since jacket is intended for alkali cell. Jacket is made of material which properties secure obtainment of minimal guaranteed clearance between jacket and cell, which is cheap and works as damper when exposed to mechanical load and to temperatures between minus 50 to plus 50 C.
