FIELD: thermophysical measurements. SUBSTANCE: electric current increasing initial temperature of medium and correspondingly enhancing rate of propagation of combustion wave and maximum temperature in combustion wave is passed in advance through interacting components of condensed current-conducting medium simultaneously with start of propagation of combustion wave or with propagation of combustion wave. Then dependence of rate of propagation of combustion wave of frontal self-propagating high-temperature synthesis on maximum temperature in combustion wave is established.
