FIELD: commercial fishery. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has independent current source, setting and output pulse generators with adjustable time characteristics of current pulses and manual adjustment of output pulse parameters depending on fish catching volumes and on expected catching conditions, electrodes with working anode, connecting cables, and manipulated current switching device. Apparatus is further equipped with controllable time relay, sensor for determining speed of catching device relative to water, and sensor signal analyzer. Output of analyzer is connected to input of controllable time relay and output of controllable time relay is connected to input of setting generator. Depending on speed of catching device relative to water, single current switching time limits and minimal time interval values are automatically set for probable repeated operation of manipulator by switching current after its previous action. These values are determined by expressions where τ1 is single current switching time; τexp is time of admissible exposure in anode electric field causing fish suppression and/or immobilization; d is width of anode electric field zone; V(c) is speed of catching device relative to water; τ2 is minimal time interval for probable operation of manipulator by switching current upon termination of effect of previous switching action; τrest is fish motional activity restitution time upon termination of current action. Apparatus of such construction allows limits of time for safe exposure of fish to electric field to be automatically set, when fish is caught in internal basins on the basis of anodic reaction thereof or by common hand nets.
