FIELD: mechanical engineering, particularly, brake couplings of mechanical presses and other forging and pressing machines. SUBSTANCE: friction brake coupling has a device of step fixed regulation made in the form of adjusting pack which consists of engageable with one another circular shaped step stops. Each stops pack consists of two members. The first of said members is made in the form of step sleeve installed in pressing brake disk - piston. Step sleeve flange has over circumference rectangular recesses of various depths engageable in pairs and alternately with two similar in shape rectangular projections made on flange of the second said member made in the form of step adjusting nut screwed on threaded end of load-bearing pin and locked from unscrewing. Each pair of recesses made diametrically opposite to each other is of the same depth and numbered on end face of step sleeve for successive engagement with projection of step adjusting nut. Height of projections of adjusting nut exceeds maximum depth of step sleeve recesses. EFFECT: simplified design of brake coupling and process of its adjustment, higher operating reliability and prolonged service life, reduced time taken for servicing. 4 dwg
