FIELD: tire maintenance and repair. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road vehicle tires and it can be used for cleaning and washing tires before recycling or repair. Proposed method of tire washing is as follows: tire is put onto hook and is moved along inclined conveyor being first brought through first row of fixed brushes wetted with water and then through zone of nozzles for washing with water delivered under pressure during a preset time period. Then tire is passed through second row of fixed brushes, is deformed into ellipse and knocked out from conveyor. Device for executing this method has conveyor with fitted on hooks designed for gripping and holding the tires, washing tunnel whose outlet and inlet are covered by shutters. Tunnel accommodates at least rows of brushes with at least two nozzles placed between rows. Spray-tire nozzles are used to deliver water under pressure. Nozzles are connected with space of hydraulic accumulator through control hydraulic valves. Hydraulic accumulator is filled up with pressure liquid. Device is furnished also with special means for removing water from tire and deforming the tire into ellipse. EFFECT: improved efficiency of washing and reduced consumption of power and water. 17 cl, 3 dwg
