FIELD: treatment of materials by means of high frequency electric discharge, namely treatment of polymeric films and synthetic fibers for physical modification of their structure and surface. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes power supply unit, controlled-frequency generator of high frequency AC voltage connected to converter. The last is connected with needle type electrode creating high frequency electric discharge. Apparatus also includes gasodynamic unit having reservoir for storing plasma -generation gas; gas conduit; nozzle mounted coaxially relative to electrode and designed for supplying gas to zone of high-frequency electric discharge and for directing stream of cold plasma onto treated material. Generator is in the form of active amplifying unit and multipole network electrically connected one to another for forming driving self-exciting oscillator. Converter is in the form of electric five-pole network with its own resonance frequency. Converter includes low-voltage section wound onto hollow dielectric carcass, high voltage section wound onto low-voltage one and core in the form of hollow ferrite cylinder coaxially embracing sections connected with needle electrode. Terminals of low-voltage section are connected with multipole network. EFFECT: enhanced safety and reliability of apparatus. 2 cl, 3 dwg
